A potentially deadly paraffin storage site has been uncovered in Mamelodi, prompting swift action from the City of Tshwane.

According to the Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya, a large fuel tank filled with paraffin was found concealed inside an unventilated room raising serious safety concerns about the risk of explosion.

City fire authorities have since locked down the area to prevent any immediate danger. The Department of Energy has been tasked with removing the tank to eliminate the threat.
